Wood, copper, wax, paint, oil
Approx. 45x30x15cm
The sculpture Horn is the latest of a series of navigational objects, titled Follow the bull, assembled out of different found- and donated materials, made between 2024-2026.
By reframing historic iconography and known materials, adding female symbolism and crafts while being inspired by possibilities of the future, the different parts are forced together. These joining of different materials reveil the tensions between them. Through these visualizations the objects becomes a starting point to get into dialogue about how we experience the tensions in the patriarchal world around us.

CONTEXT [if needed]
I started with the scuplture in 2025. The shape is based on a prehistoric stone relief from France, the Venus of Laussel. She holds a horn in her right hand with thirteen notches, representing the Lunar calendar and the blood cycles. She is a strong symbol for fertility and abundance, and I view her as a call for feminine power, ascribing the horn to being a vessel, holding knowledge.
I finished the sculpture after a sky gazing residency in Greece []spring 2026], organized by The League of Stars: Here we learned about the stars around us. El Nath is the star that inspired me to finish the work ‘Horn’. El Nath, together with his brother-star and counterpart Al Hecke, shape the two horns in the constellation Taurus. This sculpture reframes the unconstrained strength of the bull into a precision exercise by focussing on the tip of the horn: A small surface to channel female power []exactly at the point where it is needed].
