From 2005 till 2010 Serge Lammerts and Eva Schippers regularly formed the performance duo Atelier SEVA. The performances of Atelier SEVA describe themselves best as social performance art, where they wonder how people are related to each other. This comes from themes like the conflict, misunderstandings and the seeming impossibilities to understand each other. Their performances and actions are enlarged aspects of relationships, which by the different characters of the 2 artists are always performed on the edge. They confront their audience by always performing in the public space. By their different views on performance as an art, with on one hand the focus on performing actions where the body is treated like an object, and on the other hand performance as body art, they create a diversity in their work which goes from physic and energetic to tableau vivant.
