PERFORMING THE ARCHIVE: Re Rotterdam [2013]

For 2 days Eva Schippers was performing the archive, re-enacting 588 images from the personal image archive from the artist for 5 seconds, being objects, other people and collected texts. In a small room [3x3 m] the images were on the walls and the rest was used as a stage. In 5 seconds the performer walked towards the image, looked at it, took a position, re-enacted the image and waited for the timer of the camera to take a photo.

The image archive is an ungoing project, collected and organized since 2010, titled: The Black and Blues.
